This is the English translation of the Portuguese Política de Cookies. If the two versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
This page explains the cookies and the local storage that Doutor AI uses in your browser. The statistics cookies (Google Analytics) are only used if you accept them; we do not use advertising cookies.
1. What they are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in the browser and that the browser sends back to the server. Local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) is similar, but it stays in your browser and is not sent to the server automatically.
2. Necessary cookies
Everything in this table is necessary for the site to work or to store what you ask us to (including your cookie choice), so it does not require your consent (Law No. 41/2004, Article 5).

3. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics)
Only with your consent (Law No. 41/2004, Article 5, and GDPR, Article 6(1)(a)). Until you accept, the site does not load Google Analytics or send requests to Google for this purpose. If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to count visits, page views and a few steps on the site (creating an account, sending the contact form, going to payment and the first message to the assistant) and see which content is useful. We set it up for statistics only: Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, and consent for advertising always stays denied.

Google gives 2 years as the default duration of these cookies; we have reduced it to 13 months. Google Analytics does not store your IP address: it uses it to derive your approximate location (country, region and city) and then discards it. Data linked to the identifier is kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months. Google processes this data on our behalf; the processors, the transfers to Google LLC in the United States and the retention periods are in the Privacy Policy (sections 4 to 6).
4. Accepting, rejecting and withdrawing consent
On your first visit, the cookie notice has Accept and Reject, given the same prominence, and Settings, where you choose each category (statistics starts turned off). You can change your mind at any time under Cookie settings, in the footer of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the site stops sending data to Google Analytics and deletes the _ga and _ga_ZHPYDJ35X5 cookies from your browser; what was collected before follows the retention period above. We keep your choice in this browser for 6 months; after that we ask again.
5. Payments
When you pay, you leave Doutor AI for Stripe's payment page (checkout.stripe.com), which uses its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those cookies are Stripe's responsibility and are described in the Stripe cookie policy.
6. Advertising
We do not use advertising cookies. If we ever do, we will ask for your consent first, with Accept and Reject options that are equally easy, and we will update this page.
7. How to delete them
You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings (usually under Privacy or Site data). If you do, your session ends and you lose the Saved items, the copy of the conversation with the assistant and the saved prompts that are only in this browser. Your account favorites stay in your account. Your cookie choice is deleted too, and the cookie notice appears again.
