What it does and how to use it

A skill that teaches Claude Code to do databases tasks well. It is packaged knowledge the model uses whenever it is relevant.

  1. Install the skill (command above).
  2. In Claude Code, describe what you need - the skill turns on by itself when the context fits.
  3. No commands to memorize: you talk in plain language and the skill does the rest.

Install (Claude Code)

mkdir -p .claude/skills/mcp-usage && curl -fsSL https://doutorai.pt/data/lib/skills__mcp-usage.md -o .claude/skills/mcp-usage/SKILL.md

Paste this command into the terminal, in your project folder, and the component installs automatically.

# AlloyDB MCP Usage

AlloyDB supports a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, allowing AI
applications to interact with AlloyDB resources.

## Endpoint

The AlloyDB MCP server endpoint is regional:
`https://alloydb.REGION.rep.googleapis.com/mcp`

Replace `REGION` with the regional location of the endpoint (e.g.,
`us-central1`).

## Setup and Authentication

1. Enable the AlloyDB API in your project.
2. Grant the `roles/mcp.toolUser` role to the principal making the tool calls.
3. Configure your MCP host to point to the regional endpoint.
